Narrabeen Lakes Recreation ForumHome-made snacks, eager community members and attentive politicians greeted us as we prepared our display and verbal presentation for the ‘Support Your Sport’ forum run by the Friends of Narrabeen Lagoon Catchment on Monday 28 November.

We were one of about 18 sporting and recreational groups that call Narrabeen Lake home who were given the chance to promote ourselves – and our needs – to an audience that consisted of community members, Warringah Council Mayor Michael Regan and two representatives from the Division of Crown Lands.

Our presentation covered what we do, the benefits of this great sport to members and what we need in terms of a safe and appropriate environment in which to rig and sail. Our powerpoint presentation, speech and display was well received – so much so that the mayor is considering bringing his sons down for a sail!

Well done to all who were involved, including the Milton girls who helped out and sat through every presentation late into the evening without so much as a yawn.
